Madison Public Schools, with four high schools and 25 athletic programs per school, struggled with inconsistent fundraising and heavy administrative work. Led by Jeremy Schlitz, District Athletic Director, Madison Public Schools implemented Snap! Raise across all their programs and leveraged digital discount cards, raising $247,584 in a single fall season and reducing staff workload. The solution also increased equity across programs and increased engagement from the students, families, community, and donors nationwide.
Challenges
Before partnering with Snap Raise, Madison Public Schools’ athletic department faced:
- Inconsistent fundraising across programs and schools
- Fundraising heavily dependent on individual coaches or advisors
- Multiple vendors, cash handling, and accounting challenges
- Inequity across programs due to socioeconomic differences
- Limited scalability and reach for engaging donors beyond the local community
Fundraising was kind of all over the board, but really it was just very program leader dependent… there’s kind of an inequity that you deal with when that happens.

The Solution
Snap! Raise provided a modern, digital approach to fundraising:
- Hands-off operational support for coaches and athletic directors
- National reach to expand donor base
- Fundraising guarantee for predictable results
- Security and privacy practices aligned with the Student Data Privacy Consortium (SDPC)
- Structured onboarding and ongoing support for staff and students for each fundraiser
- Personalized communications to maintain district branding and community trust
I was really happy with our ability to manage the messaging in a way that is true to the way our school district wants us to engage with our families and Snap allowed the flexibility for us to do that.

The Impact
Since adopting Snap Raise, Madison Public Schools has raised $247,584 in 33 fall campaigns, with
another $150,000 projected for winter. Programs that previously struggled are now achieving higher
returns, while students, coaches, and families are more engaged. Staff workload has decreased, freeing
athletic directors to focus on student experience and program support, and fundraising is now equitable
and visible across all programs.

The work that the Snap! team did to set up and create structures and the time they took to be in front of our coaches and kids was really important… It took a lot of the pressure off of our coaches and athletic directors to actually do the operationalizing of the fundraising.

Key Results
- $247,584 Raised with additional $150,000 projected for winter.
- Administrative Time Saved by centralizing fundraising and reducing cash handling.
- Equity Across Programs ensured all teams had access to predictable, effective fundraising.
I have experience with a number of companies, but Snap is the only one that I think can scale to impact… we haven’t had an effective way to reach that many students with such little work on our staff and coaches.
