Frequently Asked Questions for School Administrators

How can I update a user’s contact information?

1. Click on Directory.

2. Search the name of the user you’d like to edit.

3. Hover over the gear icon to the right of the user’s name and select “edit profile.”

4. Once you’ve edited the contact information, click “Save.”

*Note: Only School Admins have the ability to edit profiles. If you are not a School Admin but would like to update a user’s contact information, please email connect.help@snapraise.com with the user’s name and desired change and we would be happy to help!

How can I change a user’s permissions? (E.g. permission to post without approval, permission to edit users, permission to moderate posts)

1. Click on Groups.
2. Click on your school group.
3. Hover over the gear icon in the upper right corner of the screen and select “Manage members.”
4. Search for the user whose permissions you’d like to edit in the search bar at the top of the page.
5. Hover over the gear icon to the right of the user’s name and select “Edit permissions” or “Edit label.”

a) If you want to keep a user’s label as is (e.g. keep a staff member as “Staff”), but want to give them extra permissions (or remove permissions), then you should select “edit permissions”. There, you will see a list of various permissions that you can toggle on and off.

b) If you want to change a user’s label (e.g. Add the School Admin label to someone who is currently labeled “Staff”), you can select “Edit labels”. If you change a user’s label, the accompanying permissions to that label will automatically be applied.

Frequently Asked Questions for Teachers

How do I publish a post that is currently in Drafts?

1. Go to Drafts.
2. Hover over the gear icon to the right of your post and select “Edit.”
3. Ensure all required fields are filled in.
4. Click on “Preview” at the bottom of the page.

How can I tell if a guardian has activated his/her account?

There are a couple ways! If you want to check whether the guardians across an entire class have activated their accounts, follow these steps (web only):

1. Click on Groups.

2. Click on the group you’re interested in (perhaps your homeroom group).

3. Hover over the gear icon in the upper right corner of the screen and select “View Member Activity.”

4. This will pull up a page with all of your students listed and next to each student’s name, you’ll see their associated guardian. Under “last login,” you’ll be able to see the last time each guardian accessed Snap! Connect. If it says “never,” that means that the guardian has not yet activated his/her account.

If you want to check an individual parent and whether he/she has activated, follow these steps:

1. Click on Directory.

2. Type the parent’s name in the search bar at the top of the screen.

3. Check the “last login” column. If there is a date and time, that represents the last time that the guardian accessed Snap! Connect. If it is blank or says “never,” it means the parent has not yet activated his/her account.

How can I print an invitation letter / find out someone’s code?

1. Go to the Directory.
2. Search the name of the user you’d like to invite/find their code.
3. Hover over the gear icon to the right of his/her name and select “Print Invitation Letter”. This will open a PDF that you can print for that user to help them activate their account or you can use to find out their code and simply tell the user his/her code.

*Note: If “print invitation letter” isn’t an option and instead you see the option “message me,” it means that the user has already activated his/her account and simply needs to login using their email address or mobile number along with their password. If they forgot their password, they can use the forgot password link.

How can I tell who a child’s parents/guardians are?

1. Click on Directory.
2. Search for the child’s name in the search bar at the top of the page.
3. Click on the small blue arrow to the left of the child’s name. This will show more information about the child, including his/her parents/guardians.
